You find a puppy on the street.
No food, no name, nowhere to be.
He looks up at you like you're the answer.
You take him home, you feed him,
and you give him a bed by the fire.
Then you start hitting him.
Did you save the puppy, or did you break him?
A lot of modern church teaching does this.
We bring people in and call it grace,
then we tell them they're rotten from birth,
never enough, and the only door out
is the one they just came in through.
Then the puppy walks outside
and bites every dog he meets,
because he learned to bite in the house
where he was supposed to feel safe.
We call this unconditional love.
But love with an entry fee has a condition.
Both claims can't hold at once.
Everything Jesus taught is true, every word of it.
John 16:25
He said, I have spoken to you in figures of speech.
He told us how to read him,
and we read him literal
and missed the whole point.

I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Say it for yourself
I am the way.
I am the truth.
I am the life.

The kingdom of God is within you.
The door is the I AM,
and the I AM lives in you.
Yes, he gave his life. He said so.
But an angry God punishing his son in your place?
That came later, a thousand years after the cross.
